Sensory over-indulgence in every nook and cranny.

Without sounding like i’m trying to write an article for the Guardian, my first experience of Boomtown was somewhat of a spiritual experience. I was there on my tod as photographing in collaboration with Minirig (portable speaker company, Bristol). Now let me tell you… The level of creativity was absolutely astonishing. I’d never experienced anything like it. Sensory over-indulgence in every nook and cranny. The photos basically took themselves. It was a photography job like no other, even to this day.

…to create such an overwhelming spectacle, you need spectacular human beings.

Over the years as I worked with the Minirig Crew, I came to realise that to create such an overwhelming spectacle, you need spectacular human beings. Boomtown crew back then, we’re masters of their own creative crafts, every one of them.

It’s safe to say, I was initially quite daunted by the prospect.

So when I am asked to create designs to be worn by the crew, It comes with a healthy dose of honour and a light sprinkling of pride but it’s safe to say, I was initially quite daunted by the prospect. AF Live have been part of Boomtown since its early days as a freeparty and having completed their company re-brand, I was asked to produce a garment to be given to all the crew, for the 10th anniversary of the festival. I got straight to work.

Previous designs for AF Live played with the concept of the Tesseract, used as their logo mark.

We built on these concepts, weaving in elements from Boomtowns own branding for that specific year. It was a bold and energetic design but styled in such a way as to give nod to its 90’s heritage.
